Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning technicians design, install, maintain, and repair the equipment used to provide environmental indoor air quality in homes and buildings. Residential and light commercial heating, ventilating, and air conditioning, along with refrigeration, are the main focuses of the program. During the course of the program, students will participate in on-site and off-site experiences. In addition, the growing emphasis on energy cost and utilization is creating a need for technicians to renovate, convert, and service existing heating and air conditioning systems. Students learn to utilize blueprints and drawings; install refrigeration lines and pipes; install furnaces and air-conditioners; test electronic control systems; design, install, and troubleshoot electrical systems; and repair heating and air-conditioning systems.
