Animal Science & Management/Pre-Veterinary Technology
(Career Field: Agriculture and Environmental Systems) 

The Animal Science & Management/Pre-Veterinary Technology program is designed to give students a working knowledge of animal management and veterinary science through the study of many animals, including cattle, sheep, swine, horses, poultry, and goats. This course will provide an understanding of breeds, animal health, nutrition, training, anatomy and physiology, grooming, and related employment skills.

***(According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics: Employment of animal care and service workers is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations over the 2006-16 decade. Additionally, a shortage in veterinarians who treat and inspect farm animals is becoming more severe, leading to substantial job growth in many areas of the country.)
