Medical Update
School has begun and the medical calendar already has distance learning, field trips, and many speakers arranged. These activities are designed to enhance the student's learning.
Mentorship

For the second year in a row, the Senior Medical Assistant program will be working with the North Canton Medical Clinic one day per month performing blood pressure, respiration, and pulse rate checks on elderly patients. This mentoring activity gives the students the opportunity to develop interpersonal communications with the aged, to develop expertise in the taking of vitals, and to gain an understanding of how the respiratory system changes as one ages.

Blood Mobile

For the 5thstraight year, the Administrative Medical Assistant program will coordinate and assist in the collection of blood from students, staff, and the general public. The students develop an operational schedule, register donors, perform vitals, guide donors to various areas, and monitor canteen and release times. This activity enhances their interpersonal  and organizational skills, assists in their understanding of team work, and ultimately lets them perform a vital function that helps people throughout Stark County.

The dates for the blood mobile are September 21, December 13, February 15, and April 24. The operational time for each date is 8:30 to 1:30.
